Michael Caslin Awarded The Fund for American Studies Alumni Achievement Award
May 29, 2013 – Earlier this month, Washington-based nonprofit The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) recognized Rising Tide Capital’s Michael Caslin with the Alumni Achievement Award for his extensive career empowering marginalized entrepreneurs in low-income communities.
“This award is accepted with great appreciation for The Fund for American Studies’ mission and incredible support they have provided over the years. My experience as a TFAS intern changed my life by inspiring me to devote my career to the empowerment of struggling entrepreneurs, first at NFTE and now at Rising Tide Capital,” said Caslin who serves as the Managing Director of Strategy and Development for Rising Tide Capital.
Additionally, Caslin serves as an Adjunct Faculty member of Babson College’s Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship and Professor of Entrepreneurship and Sustainability at CUNY- Baruch Zicklin Business School in New York.
Each year TFAS presents the awards to recognize the distinguished accomplishments of its alumni and to commend their dedication and service to the organization. This year’s winners were chosen by a selection committee composed of Alumni Council members and chaired by Neil Vigdor.
"The recipients of this year's alumni awards embody the principles we at The Fund for American Studies hold dear,” said Vigdor. “They lead by example, not out of convenience. They believe in free markets, educational empowerment and sharing their wisdom for the betterment of their communities."
The Fund for American Studies is an educational nonprofit that seeks to create a brighter, more prosperous future by preparing young people for leadership, teaching them the ideas of freedom and a free-market economy.
